Next fall I'll be going to uni and I won't be able to balance both school and work. If I limit my spendings now, I can start next semester with about $4000 CAD (3100 USD or 2600 euros), minus the few hundred I could scrape together during the sumer before I move.

I'm fortunate enough to have my parents pay for both tuition and rent (both are cheap in Quebec), so all my money will be allocated to food. Is it enough to last through the year? I'm not a big drinker or partyer so I don't plan other expenditures.

I plan to just eat potatoes, rice and frozen fruits&veggies (I'm a 125 kilo and 195cm man so ramen is out of the question) the whole time, so can that money cover it? Anything else I should add to my grocery list that is less obvious?

EDIT : once the two semesters are over I can start working again so the money won't be for 4 years by any means
