Hello, I would like to relocate my existing dryer duct because my dryer is struggling to dry a mid-sized load in less than 120 minutes (max cycle time is 80 minutes so we have to run a load 1.5 times in order to dry it). The current run is the blue line which has six 90 degree angles in approximately a 60 foot run out to the back of the house. I would like to change the run to the front of the house via the garage. the new run would be about 120" with two 90 degree angles. The front porch on the house has a bush that would hide the exhaust from plane view and it would be about 6 feet away from the front door. The ducting that would run through the garage would be 4" pipe, the garage door track is a little over 12" away from the wall adjoining the exterior front porch.Other notes: The house is a 2 story house built in the 90s, laundry is on the first floor. The laundry is nearly dead center of the house and the ducting runs down into the basement and then out the deck on the back of the house. The current run seems really hacky and I couldn't imagine a code enforcement officer signing off on it.I am doing my best to adhere to the 25ft max ducting distance with every 90degree bend subtracting 5ft from the max allowed distance. Is my plan (the red line) worth executing? Is there something else I should look into to solve this problem? Aside from the dryer struggling to do its job, I am concerned of potential fire issues with such a long and winding exhaust run. Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2jypCaU
