So my wallet was stolen about 2 weeks ago.
The person took all my debit and credit cards and made small purchases on all of them until each of them were locked. I never thought my retirement account would be compromised since I use a different password for every single one of my accounts not to mention that I don't write my passwords down anywhere.
I come to find 24k missing (which is all of it) out of my Roth IRA.
Even if they have my drivers license they shouldn't be able to withdraw from a retirement account without some additional background checks should they?
Is there any possibility I won't get this back? I tried calling JH today and it looks like they're not even open back up till monday because of the thanksgiving holiday.
Is there any other steps I need to take in the interm while i wait for customer service to become available to protect myself?
The person that stole this is completely random and does not know anything about me except for what are on my plastic cards and drivers license.
