Im aware that the midwest and the places nearby tend to be cheaper. Like Texas, North Carolina, Minesota etc.
Ideally i wouldnt even mind finding a room for rent around there if it could knock off a few hundred dollars.
I'm more focused on making sacrifices than wanting to live in comfort if it means saving up money
But of course the safety of the area would be a deciding factor too.
Southern Californian here. Living In this expensive state has put me into a spiraling crippling debt that keeps increasing.
Working at the minimum wage of 10.50$ an hour for 40 hours a week is still not enough to pay my subsidized rent of 400$ a month while saving money and paying off my many thousand dollar debts.
Food racks up to over 200$ considering that I need a special healthy diet for my various auto immune diseases.
And even without a car, I still live pay check to pay check unable to pay off my bills.
It gets so expensive at times that I tend to run out of money in my bank several days before my next paycheck.
I need a new start in life and somewhere else to move to to start saving more money. I hope to attend an art university in Canada and then after graduating, immigrate there. But in order for this to happen I must pay off my debts and start saving money first.
I've lived in both California and New Jersey, and they are both places that are not ideal to live in financially
