I (35m) proposed to my GF (32f) of almost a year.
The thing is I just started a new one-man carpentry business a few months ago and see very little profit right now. she makes middle class wages herself and neither of us have savings nor well-off parents that can help out. we live in the northeast.
How can I set up a wedding I can afford? She wants a jewish wedding, do I start calling up random temples asking for prices to get married? Are there regular chapels that can hire rabbis to do this? Can I do this in our own backyard/home or do I need to find a place to rent? I've never done this before, both of us are on the introverted side. I imagine the number of guests will be well under 50. Any advice would be appreciated
