So once my baby becomes old enough, I plan on selling breastmilk. There are multiple ways to do this and some that would result in more effort but more money, but I plan on going through a group that pasterizes it and uses it for premies. They supply shipping costs with freezer packages, storage bags, and pay $1 per ounce. And I'm blessedly a heifer when it comes to making milk. I make about 50-60 ounces per day.
So at minimum once she doesn't drink much anymore, I can make $14,600 (assuming she drinks between 10 and 20 oz per day) per year. That will go towards paying debt. However, I've been reading it would be subject to self employment tax as have donors for plasma and eggs are. The benefit of self-employment would be that I could deduct expenses. Can I deduct expenses for food or my health insurance? Is there anything else I should know about self-employment? That whole thing is new to me.
