Seeking advice to fix my bedroom door. I accidentally locked my keys inside my bedroom, and misplaced, or used and forgot to return, my spare key. So, i figured I'd just kick it in and figure it out in the morning. (Alcohol was a factor) The next morning I purchased a new knob and a steel reinforcement plate off amazon. The plate is too large and the door will not close properly. What is my next move? wood filler and clamps, and forget the plate? Here are some pics, advice would be great. P.S. I am renting this place, so i'd like to avoid buying a door if possible, it was a crap one to begin with.
