I'm replacing the old plastic switch in my new home with a chromed one and need to be extra careful about earthing. I am just turning off all of the power in the house to change it as I don't have one of those testers to see if the power has been isolated. The L and L1 cables are insulated and have copper exposed which is perfectly fine and I understand where to put them. However the earth wire is insulated but the copper wire poking out at the end isn't the same as L & L1, the exposed wire is like a copper O-ring and it won't fit into the terminal. Why is the earth wire like this? & What can I do? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ku96sh
