I had a big long post but it (thankfully) got caught in the mod filter.
Long story short I picked up a ton of stuff in the Uniqlo U drop last week. Stuff for me and and my fiancé. Used PayPal to check out (using credit which I always do for large retail purchases).
The order processed correctly and today I realize I never got a shipping confirmation. I emailed and they said to call them. When I dial in they told me they needed me to call and verify the mailing address and my name for security, my order was never placed AND they had held my funds in a temporary authorization that would take a few days to return.
Obviously I was pretty frustrated and asked the agent if they’d planned on notifying me that there was an issue. She said no and ‘usually the consumers decide to call when they notice it’. She also told me that their website doesn’t work well with PayPal and do not use it. What the hell kind of policy is this?
I told her I wanted a call back from someone in their management chain so I could file a complaint. I also swapped emails with another agent who told me, and I quote: “Our website has been having some issues with some Pay Pal orders.“
Ultimately it’s only clothes or whatever so how mad can I be.. but fuck how pointlessly stupid is this whole situation? Their entire ecommerce operation is useless, has been useless, and it is entirely the reason why I’ve stopped shopping there outside of these one-off collabs. You get what you pay for, I guess, but it’s unbelievable how they’ve failed to make any appreciable change to their notoriously shitty website and at this point it seems to be regressing. I’m incredibly salty because the uniqlo U collab is the only thing I look forward to with them anymore and they found a way to fuck that up too.
TL;DR straight from uniqlo’s useless ecommerce department, DO NOT use PayPal with their website. This is the second time I’ve personally had a huge issue with it after they’d assured me it was fixed previously. This is by their own admission THEIR problem and I’m hoping you guys avoid the same mindless frustration I experienced today.
Ps if someone from uniqlo still monitors this sub you guys blew it when you lost Midnight. She was the best liaison this community has ever had, from ANY brand.
I will update everyone if they actually do call me back.
