I was verbally promised a promotion over a year ago by 3 separate bosses. I was also told that o would receive back pay for part of the year, for doing the work for the promotion.
The delay was because my smaller company was acquired by a larger company.
I had been given specific dates that my promotion would take effect, and all of them would come and go, with more excuses.
My company is very large, and not in financial trouble.
My former VP told me what I would be making once the promotion took effect, and he has since left the company.
I received my offer letter and it is $35k less base salary than my peers. I'm appalled. I plan on countering, but I'm at a loss for the wide discrepancy. It's a huge insult. Also, no mention of back pay.
What do I do?
