Hi all,

I signed the contract for my new condo back in 2015 and paid my downpayment. It finished building in May 2017 and I closed in mid-July. However the apt had many flaws such as wall paint, wooden floor damages and other etc damage so the punchlist team took over two months to fix everything. I had to close before they fix everything because the developer said if I don't close soon I will lose my apt to someone else on the waiting list. I recently received a bill asking me to pay all maintenance since I closed in mid July. However I couldn't move in till yesterday due to developers fault and what's more ridiculous is they are asking all unit owners to pay for bulk cable retroactively for a month because the management signed a contract with Verizon 2 months ago. Nobody even has a cable box yet! I feel like I'm being cheated on my money. The management company won't respond to my emails. Can I take the issue to someone else or do I have to hire a lawyer? I think lawyer fees will be more than what I have to pay. I'm looking at $1800 of charges that I feel I shouldn't be paying. Any help is appreciated! Sorry if I did anything stupid. I'm in my 20s and this is my first home purchase.
