I have X/posted this to r/legaladvice.
I previously wrote this asking for advice. Now more has come up, and I'm not sure how to proceed. Any advice would be great.
A couple weeks ago, my husband received another call from the dealership. It was a man from the financing department - I will call him FG for Finance Guy - who said that we were missing a bunch of paperwork from our file. My husband said how can that be? We were just in there over a week ago and filled out paperwork that we were told was missing. FG said he was sorry and that he was new. Apparently, the woman who previously worked with us "was no longer with the company". My husband was angry and said we were just in there, we were lied to about a few things when we were there, and we were told that would be it. He said we did not want to come back. FG told my husband that they don't even have our ID's on file - which she scanned the very first time we signed paperwork.
When my husband told FG that we did not want to come back, FG told him that he would try to figure out what is going on and would get back to us. He has yet to return contact.
As of this morning, I just received an alert that the dealership has AGAIN checked our credit. My previous post was that I was concerned the Credit Union we went through would check it again - and they did. This is a month after the Credit Union ran another check, and a month after we went in to sign the "missing paperwork".
I am extremely frustrated and I feel like I have no idea what is going on. Could this be some kind of a scam? Is there anything we can do to remove this new inquiry and make sure they don't submit another one next month? Is there anything else we can do about this situation? I understand we likely don't have a legal case or anything like that, and we are not looking to sue or anything. I'm fairly new to Reddit, and wasn't sure where would be the most appropriate to seek advice about this. If there is somewhere else that would be better suited for this, I'd be happy to post somewhere else. At this point, I have no idea what to do. We are planning to go into the dealership to talk to someone as soon as we can, but that won't be until Monday.
