I have the Discover It Miles card. I pay my roommate $575 a month for rent via check. Would it be worth a 3% transaction fee to start paying my roommate with the card through PayPal, in order to gain the miles? The fee is about $17.25 which is just over $200 a year.
Edit: I earn 1.5 miles for every dollar spent. If my math is correct that would be just over 10,000 miles.
Edit 2: one article I found values a mile at one cent. Making my total miles in a year valued at $100. In other words - it's not worth it. Thank you to all contributors for walking me through the logic!
