I just purchased a new home that has 2 pits in the basement. Neither pit has a pump in it. I am planing on finishing the basement out so i want to install a pump just incase. The 2 pits are in the corner of the basement, one is 18 inches diameter and the other in 22 inches in diameter. The smaller pit has a typical plastic cover with a slot to middle for a pump discharge pipe. It has one inlet of drain tile pipe to it and has about 4 inches of water in the bottom. The larger pit has 2 piece of drain tile pipe stubbed into it. There is no water in the pit and it is full of crawly bugs. The cover on the larger tank is steel and has 3 holes in it like a set up for a injector pit. The home has a septic tank and a drain field. They are both below grade and set way out in the back yard. All of the plumbing in the home goes down through and underneath the basement slab out to the sepric tank.So what am i dealing with here? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xKpqqr
