A friend's 23-year-old nephew just got a full time job at a summer camp/ranch three weeks ago. He had purchased a cheap car, driven from Georgia and got himself set up on the ranch, which offered food and housing as part of the job.

Unfortunately, the ranch burned down along with his car, housing and all his belongings. He is staying with my friend now, so he's safe and ok for the moment.

Could he get any kind of remuneration from the owner of the camp? Is it feasible her insurance could help him recoup anything? I don't think he would be eligible for unemployment due to the short period of working. The owner may be in a position to hire him back to rebuild, but housing is probably not possible.

Any advice for this unlucky young man would be appreciated.
