Father died a couple of years ago, and recently I finally decided I should see if I should do something about them.
-
The Funds:
-
Charles Schwab IRA: $41,000
-
TransAmerica Premier Funds: $45,000
-
Hartford Funds Simple IRA: $13,000
Starting Value Schwab:
October 2007: $20,880 Today: $41,107
Seems to be made up of 3 funds: DODGX, GFAFX, and CAMOX
TransAmerica: IAAAX
January 2010: $22,642 Today: $ $45,693
Hartford Funds (I think this was a college account that turned into a Simple IRA):
THE HARTFORD TOTAL RETURN BOND - A (217) Ticker: ITBAX
January 2014 (earliest available documents): $12,124
Today: $13,544
Honestly I do not know what my first step should be with these accounts, whether their performance is good or bad. With my limited knowledge I think Hartford Funds account should be moved into something else (I was thinking of opening a Vanguard target date fund if that is possible?).
I have a target date TransAmerica fund at work that I just started, but for some reason I don't want to put any of this money into that fund.
Could you all give me advice on the funds, whether it might be wise to move any or all of them to different institutions , or whether I need to find a financial advisor in town to help me sort this out.
I am a novice investor and honestly I really don't want or have the capacity to get into the game (never had a head for numbers). So any advice would be appreciated, and if you all need more info from me just ask.
Thanks.
