How do I go about evaluating the financial health and growth potential of a private business, for investment purposes? With a public company, I can view their quarterly filings and similar releases via the SEC website. I'm wondering how I would go about this process to see if a private company is worth the investment. Do I start by approaching them and asking if they'd be interested in receiving an investment, and then get into the details if they are willing? As a newb, I'm curious how this process is approached.
