So we are about to move into a new house and the basement has a good little space we want to turn into an office/hobby area. The space is about 11ft by 11ft and wanted to a wrap around desk most likely with countertop and a few desk height cabinets.The issue I am trying to avoid is prevent sagging with long spans between cabinets.My plan was to do a 2x4 all the way around so the entire back side of the counter was supported, but still worry about the front sagging. I've read some say to put a piece of angle iron under the front edge but I still wasn't clear how that would work.A few of these spaced under the counter as well for support, but not too many so there could be 6-8 feet spans with nothing underneath.http://ift.tt/2z73ruR in the planning phases so anything is helpful to get to the end result.
