Hello,I'm having a problem with water getting into my basement. The basement walls and the foundation itself is all secure and "waterproof" but the problem I'm having is water getting into the exterior basement stairwell and leaking under the basement door. For backstory: I live in NJ and the house is on a hill so the grading unfortunately has the water running down the driveway towards the house and into the stairwell from framing (pictures below). Now there is a drain at the bottom of the stairwell but it doesn't seem to really do its job well and during heavy rainfall, I'm sure it gets overwhelmed.I'm hoping someone here can give me some good tips for solving this problem that doesn't involve too much landscaping or house alterations. If there's something I can use to board it up or seal it, that's fine but my friends and I rent the house so I can't go about heavy renovations without consulting the landlord and we've had problems with him before. On the other side of the basement door there is a small french drain leading to the sump pump in the basement but it seems it gets overwhelmed if the water is enough to get into the basement. Thanks in advance!Pictures via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2y1RJRp
