Saw a post earlier today that kind of woke me up.
I am good about eating homecooked meals, cheap coffee, avoiding bars, etc... Good habits that save me a LOT of money compared to my friends.
I understand using money for your own enjoyment, but right now I need to be cheap. The bad kind of cheap that you must do when you HAVE to save money.
However, I recently caught myself spending almost 15 dollars on 1 paint brush. (It was unique and I wanted to try it)
Its only 15$ right?
Found a nice cut of steak on sale, almost half price. However, it was still 3x more expensive than chicken. Only 10$ right?
Went to the thrift store, saw a pretty piece of decoration for only 5$.
Within 1 day, these petty purchases that seemed like a deal or necessary turned out to be luxuries without me even understanding it.
My reminder is- even if you are Frugal on a daily basis, the 'one-off' purchases can destroy a month of frugality.
