I'm putting a 30" door into a structural wall. It'll be framed with a 2x8 header and cripples above, with the king studs spaced 36.5" apart on center (32" opening for rehung door). Before I can install the header I'll have to remove a single 2x4 stud. I plan on building a temporary support before a remove the stud. Is this necessary for such a short span, which will have the header and cripples going in almost immediately after the stud is removed? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2esBohf
