Hi guys, a friend of mine recommended me here as she said this board really helped her out with her recent decisions.

I come from the 2007 graduating crop, did fairly well at the university of michigan in ann arbor college of engineering. I got my B.S.E for Electrical Engineering.

Since 2010 I have been working at this small (now medium) sized company specializing in the semiconductor industry.

My income has been stagnant for the past 3 years and I am starting to get the impression that my employer does not value me for the excessive work I put in (i work weekends sometimes for free).

I am not really a person that likes to tout themselves and am very loyal but I decided to put a stake in the ground and say that is enough I am going to try and do something about the situation.

That is to say I plan on speaking to management about my income; technically speaking I am still making slightly above entry level pay even with my 7 years of experience at this role.

The questions I have for you guys is what is the best way to go about this; I have done some research and the strategy i gathered from the internet is basically talk about what you can do for the company and why you deserve the raise.

Can I bring in national/state averages into the conversation; can i quote lets say glassdoor's worth estimator?

I am really frustrated with this situation but I feel I must do something otherwise nothing will change and I am running out of time, 31 years old.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
