I see plenty of posts about people overspending on food. It seems to be the #1 issue when it comes to budgeting. Eating out/etc. more so than food, obviously.

I see plenty of posts about people with six figure salaries suggesting or saying they drive cars that are ~5,000 USD or around there.

Now, I'm starting to see posts about people spending 20/25 USD a month for their cell bill.

I either need a reality check, or there is some bullshit going around.

I consider myself cost savvy considering my income/investments/long term financial goals/etc. but damn I read some of these posts and I feel like I have made bad decision after bad decision.

I pay 85/month for my cell bill with Verizon for the coverage and DPP.

I put down a good chunk on every car I buy and would never finance over 2%, but I have no problem financing at those rates.

I'm mid thirties and I don't make close to six figures, but I do well enough as I am single with a paid off house and no debt otherwise.
