We are re-finishing the floor in our basement. And old house, concrete floor, which was leveled last May. The initial plan was to lay laminate flooring on top of the concrete. However, I measured the moisture level in the concrete, first in the open concrete (which turned out to contain around 12% moisture), and then under a piece of plastic which I taped to the floor and left unused for 9 days (after that the moisture level turned around to be approx. 18%), due to this it has been recommended that we should use alternative materials, since we don't want any mold to start growing under the floor. We assume that it would be possible to lay tiles on the floor, or install floor heating (a bit expensive) but we would like to explore other options. So: any recommendations? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ePCLu1
