I live in a townhome that took in about a foot and a half to two feet a water during Harvey. I have removed the effected sheetrock and it is currently drying. I am interested in replacing it with something more suitable for the application. This would include another possible flood and general rinsing out. Suggestions?Mid-removal:ImgurFurther info: I have not replaced walls before but from what I gather so far, cement board is an option but it seems to typically be used as backer board for tile, stone etc. I am not too concerned with ascetics and would like to just put up one layer of something that looks decent and will stand up to be submerged in water. Hardy board is another option, but I am not sure how well that would join to the existing drywall. I know the line will need to be cleaned up and a transition piece may be needed. Once I settle on a material, I can see the available sizes and cut cleaner/higher. I was currently most concerned with getting the damaged sheetrock out and planning the rest while it drys. I cut about a foot or so higher than the water line into what felt like untained material.Any recommendations/tip/tricks/advise is much appreciated, thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vAzgP9
