I'm looking for ways to lower my bills. We were paying $65/mo for internet which I thought was pretty crazy so I was able to sign up under my name for an introductory rate of $40. Which is great! Except, well, they're charging a $10/mo modem rental fee on top of that. So we're paying $50/mo, which is annoying.
I have a modem but unfortunately it doesn't work as it's not compatible with Optimum. Here is the list of compatible modems:
The cheapest I've seen any of these is $80 which I just think is nuts. Does anyone know where I might possibly be able to find one for cheaper? I live in Brooklyn, and there's got to be people moving all the time that own one that don't want it anymore.
