LPT: Keep a small notepad in your car. Use this notepad to jot down the cost of your "bad spending" transactions. do this for a month, then start over, this way you will have to look at every dollar you could have saved if you didn't make that bad purchase.

In my mind, a bad purchase is any thing that starts with "well its only [insert any number here.]" or anything that I have to convince myself to purchase that isn't in my budget. (like that $10 subway sandwich I bought instead driving 10 minutes to my home and making a sandwich.
