http://ift.tt/2wRcXot posted before showing some progress of my wall removal to expand the dining area where it was very VERY small before. It all started with what I thought was going to be just a call wall removal, adding a transition strip and that would be that.I ended up;Removing the wall between dining area and former small home office. Removed old cracked ceramic tile Moving electrical and switches to more central locations Sanded and painted the kitchen cabinets, switched the hinges and hardware Laid laminate Removed a pantry swapped the light fixtures and a new sink is on the way. What I thought was going to be a simple weekend project turned into many weeks. However after 2 months of chaos I'm happy to report it's pretty much done! (Kind of) There's still crown moulding and backsplash to eventually go up as well as a small baseboard around the peninsula. However, at least the space is livable again, and looking much more civilized. This is my first time doing anything like this, so while it may not be perfect, I don't think it's TOO bad for a first time DIY-er. :)Costs?Sandpaper for cabinets - Already had Zinsser Bullseye 123 primer for cabinets from Home Depot $50 Benjamin Moore Advance Paint for cabinets - 60$ Oil Rubbed Bronze hinges for cabinets from Amazon.ca - $75 Cabinet Hardware from Amazon.ca - $40 Flooring from Home Depot - $400 Paint for the dining area (Benjamin Moore Regal Grey Owl) - $60 Baseboards (Home Depot) $50.00 Plugs and switches $40 Labour - $0 Just lots and lots of pain and suffering!Total?
