Hello all, Throwaway because I am embarrassed. I am 25 years old.
I messed up and did not take care of my finances. I am trying to start and I am looking for some advice. I have no idea what I am doing, so here it goes:
I am currently making $47500 a year. My expenses are:
Monthly:
-
$200 for car loan ($10,000 left to pay)
-
$150 car insurance
-
$90 healthcare
-
$750 rent
-
$400 credit card debt (I have close to $13,000 of CC debt ($5000 with WF, $2000 with Chase, $2500 with target, and $1500 with Capital One)
-
$150 student loan 1 ($20,000 left to be paid via gvt)
-
$50 student loan 2 (sallie mae, $2000 still owed)
-
$70 for my phone
-
$20 for the internet
-
$40 for electricity
-
$40 on online subscriptions
Plus gas, groceries, entertainment, etc...
I am also attending law school next fall, so I will probably get more debt that way.
I have so many expenses and there is just never enough money to help get rid of my debt. Would you recommend a loan consolidation?
Marcus by Goldman Sachs is offering $12000 with a 19.99 ARP over 4 years with payments of $350 so I can consolidate all the credit cards. Is that a good idea? My credit is in the high 690s.
Please advise on what I can do. I am truly lost.
Thank you in advance!
