I'm using great stuff ( the "pro" gaps and cracks can with the hand held gun) to seal up my attic. Been watching videos and reading posts for what seems like years now and I've only just come across how the expanding foam around electrical junction boxes (octagonal metal or plastic kind) are a super no no.All of my ceiling lights use the junction box mounts (so no recessed cans) and of course I've sealed them with foam already. Now, I sprayed the foam around the outside of the box and on top of the box where there holes are and didn't intentionally spray foam inside the box, but I used probably more than necessary and am worried that it expanded inside the box.My questions are:1) how do I go about removing the foam around and most likely inside my junction boxes so that I can seal them with fire caulk instead like they're supposed to be?2) am I safe so long as I don't use the lights or should I kill power to the whole house while I'm at work tomorrow?3) once the foam issue is solved, is it safe to lay insulation batts right over the top of the junction box or do I need to build a barrier (conflicting sources suggest it is both ok and not ok)I'm feeling super stressed about this and my anxiety is through the roof (pun absolutely intended). Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!some pics I took via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xf1sqv
