So I got a roommate recently, so my money situation has been much better. I decided to splurge a little by trying stuff I've never done before, one example has been hitting up the local starbucks and other fast food places.

5.50$ for a large frappuccino? 5 DOLLARS for a SINGLE DRINK!?

Couple days later I decided to hit up Burger King. Got a large everything with my meal. My total? 10.50$. I could buy a weeks worth of chicken with that amount

I thought fast food was supposed to be cheap? 90's kids will know that growing up that was "cheap eating". If you were to eat at say McDonald's every day of the month, you'd easily spend 200-300$ on food.

Maybe one day when I'm making salary and my paychecks are 1000$ a week (after taxes) i'll spoil myself on fast food, but until then im avoiding those places.
