I wanted some advice on how to put myself in the best possible position to be financially stable. I'm homeless right now, living out of my car. I have been homeless for almost a year.
I do have a full time job as a security guard. I make 600 - 800 dollars every other week, depending on if overtime is offered. I also donate plasma on a regular basis, making 300 a month. I have 1200 dollars in savings, but I will have to make repairs on my car in the near future, in order to pass inpection. I estimate that the repairs and inspection and registration will cost about $500.
I spend 30 a month on the gym, 50 per month on my phone, 75 per month on car insurance. I dont track my spending on food, but I rarely eat fast food. I usually eat canned goods and food that i can keep in the car, like oats, rice, etc. I think I spend around 200 dollars per month on food.
I used to live with my father, I only had to pay him 300 per month, but he started stealing from me so I decided to leave his house. Because I cut ties with my dad the rest of my family won't speak to me. I don't have any friends to turn to.. I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and those disorders have turned me into a recluse. I believe I'm truly on my own with this issue.
I have 50k in student loan debt, but I don't have to make payments on that yet. And I am in the process of setting up a income based payment plan. My car is paid off, but it is a '99 Toyota and I have spent over 2000 dollars this past year on repairs. So it isnt very reliable. Also, have have bad credit. I was once evicted from an apartment because I could not pay the rent.
My plan is to continue living out of my car and save money. Then I will rent a room in november, before winter.
I think I have adequately fleshed out my current financial situation, but let me know if you want any more information.
