I'm renovating a bonus room in the basement of a 1930 house and hoping to replace the door. However, the basement has a low ceiling and as such, the door is an odd size -- the rough opening is 30"w x 79.5"h.The 79.5 is measured from the floor to the bottom of the floor joist; if you include a 2x4 on top as part of the frame, the rough opening is 30" x 78". The height is limited by the floor joists. Here's an image of what it looks like:http://ift.tt/2fAS2MB's going to be my best strategy redoing this door? I could reframe the width, but the height cannot be altered.Cut down a slab door and work with the existing frame? Cut down a prehung door and make it work? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xe398g
