I'll keep this brief;Need to mount a very heavy mirror on an internal drywall/partition wall. The Mirror needs to hang off just two screws/bolts as it has only two "hangers" mounted on the backboard. My research shows that without question a cavity wall fixing is the way to go. i.e. like this one hereHowever, upon drilling a test hole in the drywall, it is SUPER thick, like 20mm/1inch, and then appears to be mounted onto a sheet of MDF/plywood. I've drilled through the thick plasterboard (probably a couple of sheets), and then into the wood behind, but by this stage it's clearly too thick for a wall anchor to properly function (its over 25mm and I'm not even sure if there is a cavity behind it all).Would a regular 30mm wall plug in such thick plasterboard actually reliably hold any weight? What is the optimal solution here? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2wMCSN6
