A couple days ago I had to replace a belt on our old electric dryer. The belt keeps slipping off and I can't figure out why. I opened the top, removed the dryer door, removed the bracket holding the drum on. Then I got the belt on the motor pulley, got the drum back in place, reached underneath and got the belt through the tensioner pulley. I replaced the bracket holding the drum, then rotated the barrel to make sure the belt was strait, then replaced the door and started the dryer. The barrel turned so I tried drying some cloths. After the belt came off I replaced it it noticed the barrel seem to have some friction and the belt came off again so I removed the bracket again and re-seated the barrel. This time the barrel spun freely so, again, I tried drying some cloths, thinking the problem fixed, but again the belt came off.I tried doing some internet searches and many people have had this problem but the closest I could find to a solution was to make sure the belt was strait before starting the dryer, and I have done so. I'm hoping someone on here my have a suggestion. The dryer is an old Admiral dryer. Just ask if the model number would help. Thanks. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2jGvy12
