I recently made a bed frame and needed some big 4'x8' oak plywood. Menards and Lowes tend to be cheaper in my experience, but Home Depot is way closer to me so I went there. On a whim I decided to look up the price for the wood and found it for $5 cheaper per board at lowers and asked them to price match. They informed me that anything from their major competitors, they're not only match but beat the price. So they dropped an extra $2 per board on top of matching the $5 difference. I ended up doing that (painstakingly) for every item I needed and saved a pretty big chunk of change.

I thought this was pretty rad and worth sharing. Local lumber yards are often cheaper, but if you're going to a big box store anyways, I don't see any reason to go to anyone except home depot unless the cancel this policy eventually.
