Hello all, I tried submitting this to r/CordCutters, but I was hoping it would have responses from other audiences as well...
I was considering purchasing a Slingbox, but apparently they've been discontinued, and quite frankly I'm not sure how long their services will last now.
I have done some research, but I don't know which device is best. Most devices appear to be from 2012 or older, or don't allow 1080p streaming.
What I'm looking for:
- HD Streaming (at least 720p)
- WiFI without an Ethernet wire would be preferrable
- Android / Mac Compatible
- Connection outside of the home network (so I can watch TV if I leave the city)
- Ability to set recordings would be AMAZING but not 100% necessary
- Cost effective, no subscription fees, Around $60 or less (I can purchase pre-owned if necessary)
Alternatives appear to be:
- Belkin @TV Plus/Premium
- SiliconDust HDHomeRun
- Sony VIAO LF-V30 (harder to setup on non-windows devices)
- Honestech My-IPTV
- Monsoon Vulkano
