So, let me give you the full story: I'm a 21 year old sophomore trying to graduate in 3 years. I've calculated it and for the university I'm at I need about $36,000. However I only make about 13.25 an hour as an assistant manager in a coffee shop working 47 (the max my job will let me) hours not during the school year and 35 during. Because of this I cannot pay for college out of pocket. My parents do try and help by giving me 4,000 dollars sporadically throughout the year but I really cannot rely on this. The catch to all of this is that they refuse to sign the FAFSA. I did try to sit them down and talk it out, but they are pretty unwavering on this principle of "not letting our kids put themselves in debt for school" the issue I have here is that their "plan" for MY college has me graduating in 6 years. I want to graduate in 3. They've agreed to sit down with an financial aid advisor sometime this week but honestly I'm more so wondering what my other options are? I know I could take out loans from the bank or get emancipated but are there any other options?

Originally posted on the wrong sub Reddit so reposted here. A few notes: I live on my own and support myself. It seems to me from reading the FAFSA independent requirement that I don't meet them. Also according to FAFSA I'm still dependent on my parents til I'm 24. Anybody else know of any other options?
