One of my two Super Nintendo controllers from 1991 the same ones my dad surprised me with on my 4th birthday! I got rid of my system because I became a minimalist and it was just getting in the way. I now store the games away in a box, out of sight, out of mind, and use these controllers attached to a USB adapter to play Super Nintendo games on my 2003 iBook G4 laptop instead. I put in the title 6,000 hours because I estimated that I've probably played 20 hours of Super Nintendo games every month since 1991. I'm a big gamer, and absolutely love old school SNES RPGs (anyone excited for the Secret of Mana remake?)
I had a hard time finding new and authentic SNES controllers to buy anywhere, so I think if you want some you have to buy them used or buy a generic off brand.
So yeah, these things are sturdy as hell, the controller has a bit of an off yellow color to it now,but I take it apart about once a year to clean out the buttons. The only occasional problems I have with it is sometimes the R & L buttons get sort of stuck.
