Moving to Boston area, deciding to just go with Xfinity for (only) home internet. Just need the cheapest thing, and saw they had a promo of $39.99/mo for 12 months. Not wonderful, but probably my best option right now.
But when I go on their web page, I get confused. They have two offers, :
- "PERFORMANCE INTERNET": Download speeds up to 25 Mbps. $39.99 for first 12 months with no term agreement.
- "PERFORMANCE STARTER INTERNET": Download speeds up to 10 Mbps. $49.95 with no term agreement.
You'd think (1) would be the obvious choice--faster and $10/mo cheaper. But then if you read (2)'s details it says:
"New residential customers only."
So, does that mean if I choose (1), after 12 months I have to jump to the regular rate of $75/mo--because I couldn't choose offer (2) at that point!? If so, might it make more sense that I start at (2)? I find 11 Mbps is what I have now and it's fine.
I should mention that it's myself and my wife, and I could be the "new customer" this time...and she could be a new customer next time. But I don't know if there is some major installation fee. (I have my own modem, btw).
