For anyone that is not aware, Effective Sept 5, 2017, the standard trade settlement time frame will reduce from trade date plus 3 business days ("T+3") to trade date plus two business days ("T+2"), for stocks, bonds, ETFs and certain mutual funds. This decrease in settlement time means quicker access to funds available for trading or withdrawal. The amended rule is designed to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure a coordinated and expeditious transition by market participants to a shortened standard settlement cycle.
