I have a cross trainer that uses a small metal flywheel and a row of magnets. This causes the energy from your body to eventually end up in the flywheel as it gets hotter and hotter.Only problem is it's just too easy, the resistance is too low. I've moved the magnets as close as possible to the wheel but the resistance is still too lowI've got a set of strong neodynium magnets and I've tried fixing them in place close to the flywheel but there doesn't seem to be much difference (do the poles of the magnets cancel each other out or something?)I've even tried a manual resistance technique, using the fabric from an old towel to effectively rub on the flywheel. Only problem was it got too hot and there was an unpleasant burning smell in the air, so that's a nope. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vObgXG
