I'm guessing this is magical thinking, but are there any reasonable frugal alternatives to traditional ISPs for home internet service? Like some kind of cell phone technology based thingie?

The town I'm moving to (Quincy, MA) appears to only have Comcast/Xfinity or Verizon DSL (ugh), and the "low" (non-promotional) price is $75/mo for Comcast. I've been paying $25/mo where I am now and in a small town in the middle of nowhere paid as low as $14.95/mo, so $75 seems unfairly high--even for the Boston area, and Quincy isn't even within the city of Boston. (My friend in Glendale, right near L.A., pays $60/mo). I don't need blazing speeds. I watch movies online sometimes, but the 11 Mbps down I have right now is perfectly sufficient.

I also need to get a cheap-as-possible cell phone plan (not smart phone, just calling--it's just for safety as we're just not cell phone people) for my wife, so if that somehow ties in, I thought I'd mention it.
