I have plans for a saltbox shed that is 8'x12' from betterbarns.com. I'm changing the dimensions so that the shed will be 12'x16'. The picture http://ift.tt/2w8Gk5a shows the truss dimensions for an 8' span and I would like to change it to a 12' span. I can calculate the length of the rafters based on the new dimensions as well as the bottom chord but I'm wondering if I need to change anything else about the design? That is, do I need to think about using 2x6 instead of 2x4 for the bottom chord or the rafters?
