I have a large radiator under my living room window, but I would like to make use of the space by hanging a wooden shelf right below the window sill and putting several plants on the shelf (see picture: http://ift.tt/2waEGQH). I would likely hang a shelf (9-10 inches deep) that extends across the entire window sill and mount it using a metal bracket on each end. There would be ~5 inches of clearance between the radiator and the shelf. Is this a bad idea? Would it be safe while the radiator is running? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vQRf0D
