I'm not sure if I'm in the right sub but I need some help.In February, my fiance and I put our deposit down for our wedding venue. Now this venue is a 2 story barn with only stair access to the upper level that would be where the actual ceremony would be held. At the time we put the deposit down we knew that her grandfather, who is wheelchair bound, would not be able to get up the stairs but conceded that we could have some strong backs carry him up the stairs. He has a good sense of humor about his wheelchair abd we knew it would be fine.Unfortunately, since February, her grandmother lost her foot to lupus, my father was in an accident and is now oxygen bound with limited mobility, my grandmother has lost more mobility due to age and stairs are vetting more difficult, my France's father had back surgery and cannot due stairs, and my aunt(who is like a second mother to me) has lost the ability to climb stairs due to weight and issues with her legs.About 3 days ago I emailed the venue to see if they have done anything in recent months to assist with individuals who cannot get up the stairs. Their reply was that nothing has changed with the venue and that we can "live stream the ceremony to those who cannot make it up the stairs or just have the ceremony down stairs." These are not realistic options due to the importance of the family members needing to see the ceremony in perso and not being isolated. My fiance and I have conceded that there must be a way that we can get them up the stairs without having to embarrass them or isolate them.My question is, do any of you have ideas of how we can accomplish this with minimal cost(we're really strapped for cash)? There are 2 sets of stairs that are connected by a right angle corner. The corner is pretty spacious. I'm just reaching out to brainstorm. Thank you.tl;dr- need to make stairs temporarily handicap accessible so important family members can watch our wedding ceremony in person and not be isolated. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2w50qNI
