I work at a local grocery store and have been seeing many people buy Raid and other brand name pesticides. I've been using cornmeal and a lil boric acid to make a paste (of it is in a liquid forum most of the worker ants eat it rather than bring it back to the nest, whereas dry food is taken to the larvae.) This is a slower solution compared to pesticides but it is more affordable especially with many going back to college. Different home remedies are required for different species of ants, though.
