Here's an interesting pdf from Merrill Edge.
It shows the past performance of stock, bond and commodity markets in various countries going back as far as 1800 in some cases.
A lot of posts here talk about the US stock market's performance since 1970 or so, why not take a look at the big picture?
There's also a hilarious "indicator" on page 93 that should be helpful to anyone planning to make a youtube video about investing in precious metals.
