I've been given the opportunity to participate in a private placement with a company which is very likely to go public in the coming months. The investment is limited to a few thousand dollars. The subscription agreement makes it pretty clear that this type of investment is for accredited investors only, which I am not. I have been reassured that this isn't an issue and to just tick the accredited investor box. Keeping in mind the relatively tiny worth of the investment, what am I risking by doing this?
