My girlfriend and I of 8 years are breaking up and she is moving out. She bought all of the furniture besides bookshelves and coffee table, and is taking it with her.

I'm 31 and make about $2500 a month with quarterly bonuses between $1k and 5k.

My monthly expenses are: $1400 mortgage, $200 utilities ~$300 groceries and eating out and $450 to my IRA.

I have $1300 credit card debt and $3000 emergency fund. I normally have around $10k emergency fund but had to pay for surgery for my dog. My credit card debt is higher than usual because I spent more than I planned to on vacation in spring.

I'm planning on slowly buying furniture over the next months, but I need a bed right away. From what I've looked up this could be anywhere between $1000 to $4500. I don't want to get a low quality bed and then need to get one again later.

So my question is, should I use my emergency fund to buy it or should I put it on my credit card and make payments monthly?
